At the Market, Saturday August 3rd 9AM – 1PM

 

Another week, another market! This Saturday come down to Spring Street from 9-1 and find some wonderful treats to enjoy all week long. We’ll have all the fixings to create your own French toast (like the one you can have served up by The Store at 5 Corners!) Swing by Earth Sky Time and pick out some bread, grab some eggs from Blair Farm, and don’t forget the maple syrup from Sweet Brook Farm, which can be complemented with jams from Chris’s Kitchen or sweet blueberries from Hay Berry Farm. A perfect Sunday morning meal, or a treat any time of the week for that matter! Here’s what you’ll find when strolling by the market on Saturday:

MUSIC

  • The morning brings Rosin the Beaux, a market favorite who will be playing some new songs, adding to their lively set. Starting at 11am will be performances by members of the Apprentice Company of The Williamstown Theatre Festival. These talented members of the Festival’s world-class professional training program are returning for their second season at the market! 

LOCAL FARMS

  • Mighty Food Farm– Lisa brings lots of head lettuce, baby lettuce mix, Haukeri turnips, collards, Bok Choi, beets, scallions, cucumbers, summer squash, zucchini, mini onions, and a wide assortment of tomatoes. So yummy!

  • Peace Valley Farm– Bill and Susie are bringing a variety of lettuce and Swiss chard, plus zucchini, cucumbers, summer squash, broccoli, cauliflower…and of course their renowned tomatoes!

  • Sweet Brook Farm– Sarah brings local maple syrup in bottles ranging from tiny to enormous (and in varieties perfect for tasting, cooking…and over pancakes!) and delectable maple cream. Don’t miss the samples!!

  • Windswept Farm –  John will be bringing some corn, tomatoes, summer squash, blueberries, and cucumbers!

  • Bigfoot Farm– Brian will be selling his famous Bigfoot salad mix, spinach, arugula, tatsoi, hakurei turnips, parsley, summer squash, carrots and artichokes!

  • Blair Farm– The Quimbys will be bringing their local large brown eggs, lettuce, salad turnips, potatoes, and corn!

  • Earth Sky Time– Earth Sky Time will be bringing an incredible assortment of wood-fired breads along with their famous pesto, hoomoos, and VT Goldburgers. Come check out one of our newer additions to the market this year!

  • East Mountain Farm– EMF has delicious hot dogs (back by popular demand!), chorizo, andouille, chickens (whole and parts), deli ham, sausages, bratwurst, ribs, chops, bacon, ground pork, and pork tenderloins. (Note: East Mountain Farm accepts SNAP payments). Try a sample of Kim’s meats at his booth – also in the burgers grilled by The Store at Five Corners! 

  • Hay Berry Farm– Hay Berry have shiitake mushrooms, fresh cut lavender, dried flowers, fresh mint, and lots of blueberries – perfect for summer!

LOCALLY PREPARED FOODS

  • Tunnel City Coffee–  A wide variety of Tunnel City’s signature coffee beans roasted in North Adams and samples of their pour over coffee – plus coffee bean bags, great for repurposing!

  • Two Bear Bakery– Caleb is inspired by the local bounty, which will come across in his delicious pastries and baked goods! He is trying out new menu items so be sure to stop in and see what wonderful treats he has to offer! 

  • Chris’s Kitchen and Serendipity Quilt Designs–  This week Chris will be bringing her amazing jams, plus baked goods of orange brownies, chocolate brownies, raspberry oatmeal bars, pecan pie bars, seven layer bars, whoopie pies, and assorted muffins and cookies! Also, beautiful examples of her other impressive skill: quilt-making, including batik table runners and quilts.

  • Little Sticks Pops– Delicious locally made frozen pops in non-dairy and dairy assortments! This week’s flavors include watermelon hibiscus, ginger-peach, horchata, blueberry limeade, and fudge– yum!

  • R&G Cheese Makers– Sean offers a full line of hand crafted artisan cheese, including chevres (garlic/herb, honey, and maple/chipotle, among others), ripened goat camemberts – including blackbert and trufflebert, and selected mozzarellas and hard cheeses made from both cow and goat’s milk

  • The Store at 5 Corners– The Store at 5 Corners of South Williamstown is bringing their wonderful pastries and cookies- including assorted croissants and donuts (donuts with Sweet Brook Farm’s maple cream have been selling out!) Also back this week, the grill will running, meaning cooked to order brioche French toast and veggie or beef burgers, with East Mountain’s Farms local meat!

LOCAL ARTISANS

  • Berkshire Mountain Pottery– Anne will be there with her mugs, bowls, plates, and other products which are both beautiful and functional. They’ll look great on your countertop, but are sturdy enough to use!

  • Crow Hill Farm– Merry will offer an array of lovingly prepared arts and craft kits (such as owl treasure keeper, design your own sailboat, create your own notecards), greeting cards, miniatures (gnomes, elves, fairies), hand knit items from alpaca and cotton and adorable birthday fairies!

  • Heritage Artisans ∼ The artisans are skilled in weaving, spinning, knitting, and fine basketry – what can they not do? They use local and natural materials, including their own wool and alpaca fibers. They’ll have a new demonstration each week at the market

  • Memphremagog Studios– From nearby southern Vermont, Emily brings unique silver earrings, bracelets, and necklaces, etched stemware glasses, and silk scarves

  • Peterman’s Boards & Bowls  – locally sourced wooden bowls, trays, napkin rings, salad tossers, bottle stoppers, cutting boards (including gorgeous “seconds”) featured in design magazines nationally!

  • Yarnwork– Nora Phykitt continues creating lovely and comfortable knitted, crocheted and felted clothing and accessories…her cottons are especially soft!

LOCAL COMMUNITY BOOTH 

  • Williamstown Solarize Plus – a local volunteer effort launched just a few weeks ago promotes the adoption of solar energy in the Northern Berkshires. At their booth on Saturday, volunteers will provide educational materials, answer questions, and enable market-goers to sign up for a free home site visit!
