At the Market, Saturday July 6th 9AM – 1PM

Oh snap! We get excited for the return of Peace Valley Farm’s delicious sugar snap peas. Try them raw for munching and dipping or sauteed for a colorful veggie medley.  And Cindy’s back this week with her delicious Greek foods! Stop by the market to pick up snacks to watch the US Women’s National Team on Sunday in the World Cup final. After the game, be sure to visit our booth at the Clark Art Family Day! Read below to see what’s in store for Saturday’s market! 

MUSIC

This week’s live music will start with market favorites The Beaux playing Celtic, Quebecois, and Appalachian tunes, followed by Jared Polens playing a mix of traditional tunes from America, Ireland, Quebec, and Sweden on the hammered dulcimer!

LOCAL FARMS

  • East Mountain Farm – EMF has assorted steaks: delmonicos, strip, and t-bones. Also hot dogs, chorizo, andouille, chickens (whole and parts), deli ham, sausages, bratwurst, ribs, chops, bacon, ground pork/beef, and pork tenderloins. (Note: East Mountain Farm accepts SNAP payments). Try a sample of Kim’s meats at his booth and in the dishes prepared-to-order by Robin’s.  
  • Hay Berry Farm – Hay Berry has summer raw honey, lavender buds, mint bunches & dried flower arrangements. Also some strawberries – perfect for summer!
  • M and A Farm –  Autumn will be bringing summer squash, cucumbers, kale, collards, mesclun mix, garlic scapes, and also fresh eggs!
  • Mighty Food Farm – Lisa brings lots of baby lettuce mix, haukeri turnips, escarole, garlic scapes, cucumbers, summer squash, zucchini, spinach, radishes, potted sunflowers, kale, chard, lettuces and mouth-watering strawberries! (If your heart is set on strawberries, we suggest arriving on the early side) 
  • Peace Valley Farm – Bill and Susie are bringing a variety of lettuce and Swiss chard, plus zucchini, summer squash, and broccoli this week. Also making a wonderful return to the market are sugar snap peas!
  • Sweet Brook Farm – Sarah brings local maple syrup in bottles ranging from tiny to enormous (and in varieties perfect for tasting, cooking…and over pancakes!) and delectable maple cream. Don’t miss the samples!!
  • Shaker Hill Orchard – Tom is making his season debut with flowering plants – especially some beautiful sunflowers to brighten your summer!
  • Bigfoot Farm – Brian will be selling his famous Bigfoot salad mix, spinach, arugula, tatsoi, hakurei turnips, parsley, summer squash, and fava beans!
  • Blair FarmThe Quimbys will be bringing their local large brown eggs as well as an assortment of bedding and hanging plants (including wonderful tomatoes and beautiful flowers)!
  • Earth Sky Time – Mollie will be bringing an incredible assortment of wood-fired breads along with Earth Sky Time’s famous pesto, hoomoos, and VT Goldburgers. Best to arrive on the early side for a wide selection of these breads – they’ve become very popular!

LOCALLY PREPARED FOODS

  • Robin’s – Chef and baker Robin Lenz serves town-favorite melty-but-crisp, made-to-order breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Breakfasts include local eggs on grilled English muffins with cheeses, sausage, and bacon from our market vendors. Look for assorted home-cooked sweet treats!
  • The Store at 5 Corners– The Store at 5 Corners of South Williamtown is joining the market this year to sell wonderful pastries and cookies – including assorted croissants and donuts. Plus, Kevin and Justin will fire up the grill to make fabulous breakfasts – last week’s brioche French toast was a huge hit – plus veggie burgers and East Mountain Farm beef burgers for lunch! UPDATE: Saturday’s breakfast menu will include made-to-order brioche French toast – with Sweet Brook Farm syrup and Mighty Food Farm strawberries, back by popular demand! 
  • Tunnel City Coffee – A wide variety of Tunnel City’s signature coffee beans roasted in North Adams and samples of their pour over coffee – plus coffee bean bags, great for repurposing! 
  • Two Bear Bakery – Caleb is inspired by the local bounty, which will come across in his delicious pastries and baked goods! This week – mixed berry hand pies, cheese scones, and chocolate chip cookies
  • Chris’s Kitchen and Serendipity Quilt Designs –  This week Chris will be bringing her amazing jams and baked goods of raspberry ricotta breakfast cake, lemon brownies, chocolate brownies, blueberry cookie cups, pecan pie bars, seven layer bars, whoopee pies, chocolate chip cookies, assorted muffins, and gluten free items! Also, beautiful examples of her other impressive skill: quilt-making, including batik table runners and quilts 
  • Cindy’s Cookin’ Greek– Cindy will be back this week! Cindy’s offerings include pastitsio, spanakopita, Tzatziki, baklava, melitzanosalata, and galaktoboureko. Cindy is also making a special stuffed zucchini dish and dolmathes (stuffed organic grape leaves) for this weekend! If you’re set on Cindy’s dishes for a tasty lunch or dinner, it’s best to arrive well before closing time!
  • Little Sticks Pops – Amazing locally made frozen pops in non-dairy and dairy assortments! This week’s flavors include fudge, pineapple-mango, triple citrus, blackberry-lavender, and avocado-lime. Cool off from the heat with some cold treats – yum!
  • R&G Cheese Makers– Sean offers a full line of hand crafted artisan cheese, including chevres (garlic/herb, honey, and maple/chipotle, among others), ripened goat camemberts – including blackbert and trufflebert, and selected mozzarellas and hard cheeses made from both cow and goat’s milk

LOCAL ARTISANS

  • Peterman’s Boards & Bowls  –  Denise brings locally sourced wooden bowls, trays, napkin rings, salad tossers, bottle stoppers, cutting boards (including gorgeous “seconds”), featured in design magazines nationally!
  • Yarnwork – Nora Phykitt continues creating lovely and comfortable knitted, crocheted and felted clothing and accessories…her cottons are especially soft!
  • Berkshire Mountain Pottery – Anne will be here with her mugs, bowls, plates, and other products which are both beautiful and functional. They’ll look great on your countertop, but are sturdy enough to use!
  • Crow Hill Farm– Merry will offer an array of lovingly prepared arts and craft kits (such as owl treasure keeper, design your own sailboat, create your own notecards), greeting cards, miniatures (gnomes, elves, fairies), hand knit items from alpaca and cotton and adorable birthday fairies!
  • Heritage Artisans  – These local artisans are skilled in weaving, spinning, knitting, and fine basketry – what can they not do? They use local and natural materials, including their own wool and alpaca fibers. They’ll have a new demonstration each week at the market
  • Memphremagog Studios– From nearby southern Vermont, Emily brings unique silver earrings, bracelets, and necklaces, etched stemware glasses, and silk scarves

Stop by the Trustees non-profit information booth! The Trustees preserve many beautiful landscapes in Massachusetts, including both Field Farm and Mountain Meadow in Williamstown. Ask about the guided summertime tours of The Folly at Field Farm and the upcoming New Horizon hot air balloon event!
