AT THE MARKET – SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17 9AM-1PM
We’re continuing to enjoy glorious September weather, perfect for strolling the market and sampling flavored chevres, smoked mozzarella and other locally sourced cheeses from R&G Cheese! Also a full array of produce including heirloom tomatoes from Peace Valley, Diggers Bend, and Blair Farms and MacIntosh apples from Windswept Farm and Shaker Hill Orchard!
Here’s a full list of Saturday’s vendors and entertainment:
•Diggers Bend Farm – oyster mushrooms, winter squash including butternut, baby blue hubbard and delicata, basil, dill, cilantro, cucumbers, chard, collards, kale, beets, green beans, lettuce, heirloom tomatoes, jalapenos, shell beans, eggplant, eggs, pork, goat’s milk soap
•East Mountain Farm – locally pastured ground beef (on sale at $6/pound!), poultry, sweet and hot sausage, bratwurst, chorizo, andouille, pork chops, pork tenderloins
•Peace Valley Farm – a full array of slicing and cherry tomatoes (including Foxy Ladies), carrots, flowers, Asian Mix greens, rainbow chard, peppers, onions, scallions, herbs, and fingerling potatoes
•Shaker Hill Orchard – apples, apples and more apples!!
•Sweet Brook Farm – local maple syrup, maple candies, maple roasted nuts, alpaca socks and yarns
•Windswept Farm – corn – both sweet and decorative, tomatoes, garlic, sunflowers, squash, peppers, potatoes, apples, gourds, pumpkins
•Bear Meadow Farm – dry and semi-dry hard cider, cider vinegar, bars of beeswax, assorted honeys and honey candies
•Blair Farm – pumpkins, winter squash, heirloom and cherry tomatoes, watermelon, dahlias, eggplant, green and yellow beans, cauliflower, zucchini, summer squash, potatoes, cucumbers, eggs
•Dancing Bare Soap – organic, vegan, fair trade soap infused with local and seasonal herbs and florals
Local Prepared Food Vendors
•Hobson’s Choice Restaurant – grilled-to-order burgers (topped with lettuce, tomatoes, and onions), chicken teriyaki, portabella mushrooms, lobster rolls
•R&G Cheese – A delectable assortment of hard and soft artisan cheeses, both cow and goat’s milk, made nearby with locally sourced milk (free samples offered!)
•Chris’s Kitchen and Serendipity Quilt Designs – a wide assortment of jams and jellies, conserves, chutneys, pickled jalapenos, baked goods – including whoopie pies, bars, and scones using old-fashioned recipes – batik quilts, runners, flannel receiving blankets
•Memphremagog Studios – silver earrings, bracelets, and necklaces, etched stemware glasses, silk scarves
•Nora Phykitt – knitted, crocheted and felted clothing and accessories for kids and adults
•Peterman’s Bowls & Boards – a gorgeous variety of expertly crafted and locally sourced wooden bowls, trays, napkin rings, salad tossers, bottle stoppers, cutting boards
•Beach Woodworking – many Shaker-inspired tables, benches, boxes (including a special knitter’s box), cabinets, coat racks from locally sourced wooden boards (some from ancient barns)
•Heritage Artisans – traditional fiber crafts of weaving, spinning, knitting and basketry, private knitting clinics (bring along your handiwork!)
Live music includes Three Sisters on strings and Max Sopher on violin.
